I am trying to be the girl I've held inside my head and heart since I've been able to imagine.
She's someone perfect, strong, proud, graceful, tough, softening, open, lovely, trusting of herself and the hearts of others, a seeker of all things true and honest, a lover of all things living and all things real, a protector of others- be it their faiths or their persons, a guardian of her own hopes and dreams.

As I try, I become her more each day.

Every morning I ask myself a simple question, and that is:
“Who do you wish to be today?”
My answers vary aside from the last statement, which will always be
“And in the end, I will remain at my core myself.”

I have known and found love, and I have let it lead me. It is in these times I have known true happiness. It has not been love in the traditonal sense; it has at times centered on another but most recently I discovered my loves of the world and human ability. These paths of devotion have led me to incredible happiness.

Nothing is certain. Nothing is promised but life. I've heard so many people say that the only certainties are death and taxes, and I most wholeheartedly disagree. We are all alive, are we not? And so how is this not constant? Life is the most worthwhile pursuit, the simple fact that we are here in the state of living begs us to examine life, and to live it.

I create people in my mind, all the time. I write stories in my head for the people I pass in the street. I wish to be a writer, and I will earn that honor. We are handed nothing, and this is why I use the word 'earn.' Part of the honor of living is earning your place in the stream of life. Work is one of the highest distinctions of being human, and it should never demean you. It should push you to acheive the highest state your abilities will allow, and when you attain this state to push your abilities even further.

 I attend college in New York City. It is one of the most beautiful places that I have ever encountered, and I have explored it, outlying boroughs and all. It is human accomplishment side by side with humanity at its most desperate, interspersed with parks and bastions of art and architecture. It is my city, and my home, as much as I feel the ocean and the shore are my homes.

In short, I am in love with life and all its accoutrements, and I intend to show that everyday. If I inspire one person in my lifetime to find that same love, I will have realized the highest of my many dreams.
